User Management & Access to IMBI Systems

Welcome to the IMBI infrastructure! This guide provides an overview of the systems and services available to IMBI users.

Getting Access

To request access to any of the services listed below, please contact:

GitLab: Management platform for the version control system Git. It provides functionalities for collaborative work (issues, merge requests, code review) and documentation (simple wiki).
Mattermost: Chat service for internal communication between IMBI members.
Discourse: An online forum for presenting and discussing internal topics within the IMBI.
LDAP User Self-Management: Central authentication for IMBI services.
LLM Portal: Here you can retrieve your personal access token for the IMBI LLM Gateway to access locally hosted models. Please do not share your token with others, as usage traffic is tracked per user. Currently, two models are available:
- imbi-llm: The production standard model for stable use.
- imbi-llm-beta: Experimental version. This model may vary or be temporarily unavailable.

Redcap: Electronic data capture system, including online forms, response management and analytical tools.
elabFTW: Electronic laboratory notebook for documenting scientific experiments. The software is highly customisable to cover a broad range of requirements. There are three instances: University, University Clinics and Training.

fredato main Service: Research management platform consisting of file sharing (NextCloud), version control (GitLab) and research data annotation.
SFB-specific fredato: e.g. NephGen

The following systems are authenticated via the imbi LDAP.

⚠️ Important: These systems use a different password than your regular IMBI password.

fredato is a secure data management platform consisting of multiple instances, each with its own server and Nextcloud.

There are currently three fredato instances dedicated to specific collaborative research centers (SFB).
